Let me cherish this evening for a long time, because it's the start of a long 5 weeks off and before you know it it's all over and done with.

Said goodbye to 8 kids from my class, got a massive, big 'thank you for teaching my kid' hug from one of the mums, and also got loads of presents as a thank you. After work had a drink and some food with colleagues and now it's  whole lot of nothing for a while. And then an intense, full-time working kind of year. But let's not think too much about that just yet. Let me enjoy this moment; the beginning of a holiday. Nothing that needs to be done, sleeping in, be lazy etc...etc...

Three music videos. Supertramp. Pink Floyd. The Alan Parsons Project.
Fool's Overture. Shine On You Crazy Diamond. Old And Wise.

Since 1999 it's tradition this Dutch radio station plays the top 2000 songs of all time selected by the public, starting at the first day of Christmas, ending at the final minute of the year. I always love it, not always the songs, but just everything that comes with it: nostalgia, stories, knowing that almost the entire population of my country is listening to it. Anyway...2000 songs are a lot and of course songs are listed that are crap (imho), but there are also always songs listed that are just pure divine. Songs that are a piece of art. Songs that will remain timeless.

These three songs are, amongst other, songs I can listen to over and over again. This is the real deal people, this is real music.

I love Fool's Overture for the intro, the diversity and intensity. I think this might be one of my all time favourite songs by anyone ever.
I love Shine On You Crazy Diamond because of the heavenly intro, the pure brilliance of this song. It's perfect, really.
I love Old and Wise because it's just so beautiful.

I might even want these 3 songs played at my funeral one day.

I'm currently in the process of adding all my favourite songs of the Top 2000 into a Spotify playlist. Heavenly.  This entry was originally posted at http://prettygoodyear.dreamwidth.org/265205.html. Please comment there using OpenID.

I want a new camera. I good one, with good lenses etc...which costs a lot of money. So last week I went through my Tori collection and decided to sell some items. I'm not into collecting much anymore and having everything only standing on my shelf became a bit "blah". So I put 7 items on Ebay. Auction ended today and HOLY CRAP! I sold everything for $880,-/ €643,-!!! That's like...SO MUCH MONEY! Items sold for so much more money then I ever paid for! I still can't believe it! I can totally afford a new camera now, a good one with lenses and such! How absolutely cool!

For days, if not weeks I kept checking all these Irish sites, even planned my journey and then today decided to just book my holiday. I'm so excited, even though it will be my *counts* 5th time going there! Can't wait to enjoy the scenery and am already praying for nice weather. It will be an 11 day holiday and will go back to Galway and Killarney, and from there just travel around. Will only just leave 6 months from now, but it's something to look forward to! Weeh...so happy to go back there again, have been having all there Irish dreams the last couple of months, didn't go on a holiday last year and now I just will! Too bad traveling alone is expensive though, but oh well. WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEH!
