Went away for two days with a friend. This time to the south. On our second day we went for a hike, because we wanted to walk around a nearby hill. We had no real helpful map or incling as to how to get to where we wanted to go. So we wandered around and eventually found our way around and came across wonderful, beautiful spots.

A climb of 215 steps. I have a fear of heights. As you can see, the stairs were see-through. This wasn't a fun climb at all and at some points just froze completely. But I did it!

Some u[dates first and then some autumn photos, because autumn is pretty this year
  • the tumor has shrunk by half its size
  • I don't carry the BRCA-1, BRCA-2 and CHEC2 genes
  • Last round of chemo was postponed by a week, which was blissful because it meant I had a good week left to become me again
  • I have the best nurse in the whole world, who listens, really listens who's calm and makes me feel heard. In between all the shitty things, she's a beacon of light, who makes everything a bit better to handle and also nicer.
  • The FEC-treatment has come to an end and I know receive a different combination of chemo. It's supposed to cause less nausea and vomiting, but of course I'm one of the few people who's really sensitive to it. The past 2 days weren't funny at all, but today it feels a bit calmer.
  • I have 5 big rounds of chemo left, and 6 smaller rounds. I'm nearly halfway there when it comes to the big ones and hopefully the small ones will be less intense.
  • This Thursday I'll receive a Port-a-Cath. My veins are getting more and more difficult to find and while I still had many doubts, the lovely nurse decided for me I should get one. I'm super scared about the entire procedure, even though it's supposed to be minor.
Some photos then: Read more... )

Today I joined my mom in babysitting my 2 nieces. They live out in the woods, which was great for me, because it meant photographing mushrooms!

And also 2 shots of my nieces. Eldest was quite difficult today, youngest had the time of her life. I <3 them both.

(A mosquito really liked the taste of this little girl's blood, hence the red marks on her face)

This week was a school holiday, which was lovely. My niece stayed over for a night last weekend, then also stayed for a night with my mom and dad and on Monday we returned her home again. My sister lives in the country, on some kind of farm with loads of land and woods. It's always gorgeous there and now with autumn even more so.
