I had to apply for a new passport, and decided to tackle the task this morning. You can either do it by making an appointment for the afternoon, or just go in the morning, grap a ticket and wait. I decided to be there at 9:00, the time they open so I wouldn't have to wait too long.
At around 9:30 I was outside again and decided to get breakfast somewhere. Bought a newspaper and since it was just 9:30, shops were only just opening thus it being quite quiet everywhere still. Which was a bliss. I think I took over an hour to just sit, read the newspaper and eat breakfast. Slowly more people entered the place, but it was still quite calm. Perfect way to start a day.
Then I went on a shopping spree, sort of. Not really actually, but just visited some stores I like spending time in, buying things I needed. Then had lunch somewhere, which was also lovely. All in all, a pretty calm day, with lovely weather. And again, as I keep on repeating year in year out: summer holidays are the best and what makes me happiest.
Tomorrow I'll go on a family trip for the weekend to the south of Holland. Which is nice, except for the fact that we're supposed to go to an outdoor swimming pool. I mean: if you go on a weekend trip to a beautiful part of the country, please don't go to a swimming pool you have everywhere else as well. Such a waste of an already short weekend. I feel kinda forced to join the family into going there, though I'd rather just sit outside, overlooking the hills with a good book, or just do a hike or something.
