This DITL is about me and my dad hanging out for a day and traveling. Warnings: some pictures of cat medications.

This is the time I get up. I have a week off from work this week, but haven't manged to really sleep in at all.

This is why: my cat Frits apparently has pneumonia and has been quite ill. He's starting to do a lot better, but he kept me up many nights because I've been worried sick for him.

I get him some food, though he's not much of an eater, never has been.

This is part one of the medicines I need to feed him. I give him a tiny amount of food, drop this on top of it and then let him eat. Since he's such a picky eater, I often have to put the food on my finger so he can and will lick it. Sigh.

These are his other meds. I only need to give him a quarter of the little pill this morning. Feeding pills to cats is awesome really (notice my sarcasm)

Lucky for me someone created Easypill, which looks like the brown substance you see pictured here. You put the pill inside, turn it into a ball et voila, the cat will now take the pill without any struggle!

So...I have everything ready, but am missing a cat. Can you spot him?

While waiting for Frits to come inside, I make a video of all the wonderful bird sounds around my garden. Spring is nearly there people!

This is the time at which all medications have been taken. Phew.

You miss seeing me get dressed etc...but at around 9.25 I leave the house to meet my dad because we're supposed to have a father/daughter outing.

That's my dad who just posted some stuff and is now returning to the car.

We take the scenic route, which is my favorite: water, space, nature. And look at the blue sky. So much nicer than all those rainy days from before.

Windmills, we have too many of them. Though these are okayish, with their red/orange color.

We are nearing Amsterdam, where construction works are never ending. More and more roads are being made, destroying a lot of nature.

We stop at Maxis, which used to be one giant store, but contains all kinds of stores these days. We're supposed to find a birthday present at Toys XL here for my niece, but we didn't. So we left pretty quickly after we arrived.

We have time traveled a bit and are now past Amsterdam near to Schiphol airport. You can actually see a plane who has just taken off.

Can you guess where we are headed for?

Ikea! I love it there. We're only there for a free coffee and to pick up a birthday present.

I however, also spot a kitchen I do like. And I still need a new kitchen one day (and a new bathroom, and a new garden etc...etc...)

Ikea from above.

Our free cappuccino (yay Ikea family pass) and also the present for my niece.

And then we have arrived in Haarlem Look how pretty it is!

We stop for another drink and some cake.

Delicious carrot cake! Om nom nom!

We go exploring some of the more quiet streets of Haarlem and try to avoid the shopping streets.

Look at them pretty houses!

However, I stop at the Apple store had to be made as well. Mostly to get some info for my parents. Which we got and which was exactly what we needed to hear!

Then it's time for lunch. We find a place that's being run by people with Down Syndrome, which makes the place even more lovely.

I love the reflection in the window.

Our delicious and yummy food!

More pretty buildings.

And another shot of the pretty, tall church!

It took us almost half a day, but we managed to finally find a bookstore!

There was also this building, which looked impressive.

We are really the biking capital of the world, haha

Such pretty houses, hidden between other building. So serene!

When you don't have a front garden, you just put pots and plants outside.

Art on the street.

Very cool decorated art store.

Hello church, nice to see you again!

So much prettiness, I love the canals, the bridges, the old and the new.

At the end of the day we got cold and went for another hot drink. This is wallpaper btw.

Ah...delicious and warm!

And warm was the fire place we sat next to as well.

And then when the night falls, we return home, where we pass the airstrip lights of Schiphol.

And also those damned construction sites.

Loads of windmills, which means we are nearly home.

I forgot to take photos of dinner, but here's a photo of Frits eating his cat snacks after I gave him 2 off his pills.

YES! Finally. I crash on the couch and watch 1,5 episode of season 3 before I go to bed. This is where this DITL ends!
