So...last night was the Sigur Ros concert. I already mentioned that it was a great concert and that SR is awesome. But now that I've got some real time I wanna write a more detailed entry about this awesome concert.
I think this concert was one of the best I've ever been to. I haven't been to many, since I'm not really a concert type of person, but out of the ones I've been to, this one topped them all. And people who've seen SR live before said that this concert wasn't even that intense, now that they didn't have the string quartet with them. So I can only try to imagine how awesome a concert like that would have been.
Anyway...it's amazing how just 4 guys can create such a sound. Beside their own sound, you couldn't hear anything else, everyone was just blown away by the whole concert. One song followed the other, some strong and intense, other soft and quiet, all just amazing.
I've been to 5 Tori concerts now and even though I've enjoyed all of them, I often thought after a good few songs that it was enough. I'd heard enough. But maybe my image is blurred a little by my last Tori concert which was general admission and which resulted in me standing from 6.30 till about 11.15. After a while I just wanted the concert to end cause I couldn't hold it together anymore.
Anyway...I think the SR concert lasted for 2 hours or so, maybe a little less. I just remember that I could have listened to them for another 2 hours. It didn't matter what song they played, they were all so amazing to listen to.
I just haven't ever experienced something like last night. Their music is just so different from other music, they can't really be compared to anything else.
I'd love to see them in concert again one day, hopefully with the string quartet then.
I had no idea what to expect last night, but it was just an amazing, great night!
